The other day we were invited by Reach Outdoors, based in Goodrington, Paignton to have a go at Kayaking.

Both Andy and I have been wanting to try this for a while. We have even bought an inflatible kayak to get us started.

The team at Reach were great! We got the chance to go out with the lovely Dan, who took us all the way to Broadsands. He showed us how to work the kayaks and the paddles before setting off. We then went off in the direct of Brixham.

It was quite hard work on the shoulders and legs but great fun!

We even got the chance to go through some rocks and bumped around. Andy did threaten to tip the kayak up a few times!

During the two hours we were out for we even got to see a local seal who popped up to say 'hello!'

I cannot believe it is already May! Where has the first part of the year gone?!

We are now back open and looking forward to the year ahead.

We have now completed the biggest transformation in Belmont history! We have turned 4 of our rooms into 2 x 1 bedroom apartment suites. They have their own kitchenettes, living room space, bedroom and largest en-suite bathroom.

We looked at what happened with Covid and realised that holidays were changing. Guests were increasingly looking for different things. Therefore, now we are able to offer self-catering and B&B rooms for guests to choose from.

On top of that we are now completely dog-friendly! That means every room, apartment and also the breakfast room is dog welcoming. We have done this because this is our thing and we love dogs!

The weather has now begun to trun into Spring with warm and sunny days. Even Andy & I have managed to get a bit of colour. In the next blog we will talk about some of the places we have managed to visit locally!

Welcome to the first post on the Belmont Blog. This is going to be a space where we, Andy & Abi, tell you all things Belmont, and also keeping you up to date on Finlay's canine capers!

We have decided to use this space to tell you all about our local area and the things we get up to behind the scenes.

We have now owned the Belmont for just over a year. When we got here we started making some changes straight away.

The whole of the front was refurbished. This year we decided to take on a new challenge.

The first one has now been completed!

Following the pandemic, we realised that we needed to offer different options to our guests for them to feel comfortable coming to stay. Therefore, the idea of creating two self-catering apartments was born.

Therefore, we are now delighted to introduce our Penthouse Self-Catering Apartment Suite on the top floor, available for bookings for a minimum of 3 nights through out the year.

The apartment is perfect for a couple of family of 4, as there is a sofa bed in the living room area ideal for children to sleep on.

We have called it the 'Cary Suite', named after the famous family that owned a large proportion of the land in Torquay, including our building. We cannot

wait for our first guests to come and stay in it this summer. The apartments are available to book all year round as they are perfect for all types of holidays.
