The Belmont is a Dog-Friendly B&B

Here at the Belmont we absolutely love dogs and welcome them to come and stay with us throughout the year. Some times we even let their owners stay as well!!

As we advertise to be dog-friendly we must mention that it would not be possible to provide a guest who has an allergy with a totally dog-free environment, as dogs will be in and out of the communal areas.

For overnight guests we have dog beds and bowls available, these will be offered on booking, however, if you accidentally leave one at home, please ask and we will endeavour to provide one.

In our reception area is our Canine Corner, which has lots of lovely things for the dogs to enjoy, including toys, treats, a water barrel & dog towels for when they come back from their day out. There is also a hose available on request to wash down after playing on the beach or finding some muddy patches on Dartmoor.

We are happy for you to leave your pooch in your room when you come down for breakfast, however, if they are anxious we are happy for them to join you, and they may even get one of our Butcher's local sausages!

If you need to leave the dog alone at any point, please ensure they are happy and comfortable. We have had dogs very upset in the past and had to contact owners to return to them. Barking and crying dogs may upset other guests in the B&B, so we request that you consider others during your stay with us.

Each room has a fridge so if you would like to bring any food with you that needs chilling, you can. If you have more than you are able to fit, please let us know and we will try to assist with further storage.

We do have our wonderful Finlay who is available for meet and greet sessions at any time, if you fancy a little cuddle time. He has already become a firm favourite with guests during his first season. Follow him on Instagram @followfinlay to see his adventures!

Competition Time!!

This year we will also be holding a competition for Doggie of the Year! How it works: Every 2 weeks/1 month we choose a doggie of the week or month to shout about on Instagram. At the end of the year we will choose the winner, and they will get an exclusive doggie goodie bag!
